From the university both the Saxion XR Lab and the Ambient Intelligence research group are members of the Industrial Reality Hub.
The Research Group on Ambient Intelligence focuses on three key areas: connected embedded systems, applied data science, and augmented interaction. Their work spans industries like smart manufacturing, sports, and safety, leveraging emerging technologies to create intelligent environments that enhance user experience, optimize processes, and improve overall safety and efficiency.
The Saxion XR Lab is at the forefront of research and prototyping in the areas of XR, gaming technology, graphics tooling, serious games, and virtual worlds in a wide range of sectors including industry, health, and education. In the lab, researchers and students collaborate with industry and public partners on a diverse range of research projects, applying user-centered design principles such as design thinking. This approach aims to address societal challenges as well as driving innovation and supporting business growth. With access to state-of-the-art equipment – ranging from high-performance computers and motion-capture systems to a diverse array of XR devices – the lab is well equipped to support a wide variety of research and development initiatives.
