Last Tuesday the very first HealthXR meetup took place in the XR lab in Enschede. There were guests physically present, but there were also people watching via the livestream. We look back on a successful evening!
Danny Plass kicked off the event with a word of welcome to the attendees and then gave the floor to three interesting speakers: Maarten van den Broek from SyncVR, Jan Willem van 't Klooster from UT BMS Lab and Richard Evering from the Saxion Technology, Health & Care department.
All three gave an instructive presentation on the application of medical XR (Extended Reality) in practice. XR is a collective term for Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) and Mixed Reality (MR).
After the presentations, there was room for Virtual Reality demos by SyncVR, UT BMS Lab, Cherit and VR Medical Sim. Attendees were able to try out various things. The evening ended with drinks.
